Repentance

Repentance is doing, not lip service.

Adonai, Father, we say sorry for each time we stray from the path you had commanded us, each time we sin against You, each word we say, or each action we take that is not honoring you. We thank you for your forgiveness and praise you for your mercy and grace. Please help us and guide us on our journey of true teshuvah*. We desire to return to you and to sin no more. May your word and your ruach be with us always to lead us and to guide us. In Yeshua’s wonderful name we pray, amen.

* “Teshuvah” is a Hebrew word translated as “returning.” The idea of repentance is a return to the path of righteousness. The process includes three stages: confession, regret, and a vow not to repeat the misdeed.

Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
1 John 3:4 ESV

Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah — indeed, sin is violation of Torah.
1 John 3:4 CJB
