Identity

Grafted In

Many believe that “Gentiles” have replaced Israel as God’s chosen people but they fail to understand scripture correctly. Israel was never replaced by the Gentiles. If you believe in Yeshua, and hold onto His promises, have faith in what He did on the cross for you and that He was crucified for your sins, rose again after 3 days, and now is sitting on the right-hand side of God, interceding or you and in the near future will return again and then reign in His Kingdom for a 1,000 years, then my friends, you are grafted into the Commonwealth of Israel. I’m not walking about the geographical country Israel but Israel as a nation of God’s chosen people.

Some Bible verses to support this:

  • Exodus 12:49 – There shall be one law for the native and for the stranger who sojourns among you. [This verse is right after God institutes Passover and Unleavened Bread. So the Law wasn’t just for natural-born Israel. The Lord allowed the stranger— that is, the non-native-born Israelite— to be grafted into Israel.]
  • They are even included in the observance of Passover and Unleavened Bread! The stranger, sojourner, or foreigner, is also directly mentioned in the commands to keep: the Sabbath (Exodus 20:10), Yom Kippur (Leviticus 16:29), Shavuot (Deuteronomy 16:11), and Sukkot (Deuteronomy 16:14).
  • Numbers 15:15-16 You and the foreigner shall be the same before the LORD [YHWH]. Galatians 3:28 and  Romans 10:12-13 are not new concepts.
  • Acts 10:28 shows the tradition of that culture (coming from the oral law,  the Talmud). Nowhere in the Law of God will you find that they were not to associate with a foreigner, especially a God-fearing foreigner that had left their old life to become part of Israel. (Ruth from Moab and  Rahab, a prostitute from Jericho)

Isaiah 56:6-7
And the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord,
to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord,
and to be his servants,
everyone who keeps the Sabbath and does not profane it,
and holds fast my covenant—
these I will bring to my holy mountain,
and make them joyful in my house of prayer;
their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
will be accepted on my altar;
for my house shall be called a house of prayer
for all peoples.
