God/Yahweh loves us so much that He’s giving us chances over and over again to find our way back to Him. His grace and mercy are simply amazing. But He doesn’t shove His love down our throat. He doesn’t force it on to us. What kind of love would that be? True love comes from the heart. It is our God-given free choice to choose to love Him or not, to accept His free gift of eternal life
However, once we choose to love Him back, how do we show this love? Do we continue living our lives like we used to before? Once we study His Word and learn about what He asks of His children, do we discard His will and continue doing the things we know that are wrong?
1 John 3:4 very clearly defines “sin” as being lawless. (Everyone practicing sin also practices lawlessness—indeed, sin is lawlessness.). Re-read 1John 3:4-10 and reflect on those words.
What are God’s laws? They are God’s perfect laws as given to Moses at Mt. Sinai (the Torah). The wedding contract between Him and His bride. When Jesus or Paul taught against “law”, they were teaching against the man-made laws of the Pharisees and legal teachers but not God’s laws. That is a huge difference.
